Instagram recovery scams

Short answer. Instagram recovery scams show up in DMs and ask for your password, a six-digit code, or an ID photo. Meta does not recover accounts that way. A real service files through official channels and never asks for the password. UnbanPro is that kind of service.

Instagram recovery scams use the panic of a ban. The message sounds helpful. The ask is the password, a six-digit code, a backup code, or a photo of your ID. That is how a second person takes what the ban, or the hacker, already touched.

What a scam asks for

Walk away when you see any of these:

  • A DM that found you after you posted about the ban.
  • “Send the password so I can see the real reason.”
  • “Forward the code. It expires.”
  • “My friend inside Meta will restore it tonight.”
  • A link that is not the site printed on a company’s own page.
  • Pressure to pay before they have the username and the screenshot.

A DM that introduces itself as an ethical hacker is the same ask with a new label. Read ethical hacker scam. Meta’s appeal is the button on your notice. A real helper files through those official channels and leaves the password with you. Is paying for Instagram recovery legit explains the difference. Best Instagram recovery service is the checklist. Instagram account recovery service is what we do.

If you already handed over a code

Treat the account as hacked. Secure the email, then follow Instagram hacked recover. Do not send a second code to the same person to “fix the mistake.”

We never ask for your password. If a message uses our name and asks for it, ignore it and write to [email protected] or use the button on this site. For a real disable, send the username and the screenshot. We file through Meta’s own official channels. It takes a few days. Start a case on the contact page. How it works is the three steps.
